How to Use

Preparation:** Wash the yam thoroughly to remove soil. Peel the skin before cooking if desired, though some prefer to steam them with the skin on.

Cooking Method:** For the classic powdery texture, steam the yams for approximately 40 minutes.

Cookware Recommendation:** Use ceramic, glass, or stainless steel cookware. **Avoid iron pots**, as the minerals in the yam interact with iron, causing the vegetable to oxidize and turn black.

Preventing Discoloration:** If peeling, you can soak the yam in water with a splash of white vinegar to slow down oxidation and maintain its white color.

Care & Safety
