How to Use
Easily create your own sweet and tangy rice wine with these simple steps.
1. **Prepare the Rice:** Wash glutinous rice thoroughly. Add cool, previously boiled water and let it soak for at least 3 hours, or until a grain can be easily crushed between your fingers.
2. **Cook & Cool:** Drain the rice and steam until fully cooked. Allow it to cool down to around 30°C (86°F). To speed up cooling and prevent the grains from sticking, you can rinse the cooked rice with cool, boiled water.
3. **Mix the Culture:** In a clean container, add the cooled rice, one packet of the sweet rice wine starter, and a small amount of cool, boiled water. Mix everything together until evenly distributed.
4. **Pack & Ferment:** Transfer the mixture to your fermentation vessel and use the back of your hand to press it down firmly. Poke a small hole in the center of the rice; this will help you gauge when fermentation is complete.
5. **Wait for the Magic:** Place the container in a rice wine maker or a consistently warm spot and allow it to ferment for approximately 36 hours. Your sweet fermented rice is ready when the center hole has filled with fragrant, sweet liquid.
